CHOREOGRAPHY

HUMAN CONNECTION

ABSTRACT STORYTELLING

DYNAMIC MOVEMENT

My choreographic practice is rooted in collaboration, full-bodied movement, individualistic expression, and technical choreography that pushes past classical shapes and lines. My academic studies and interests in human physiology and psychology inform my approach to movement generation and storytelling through a contemporary dance lens. These interests are also connected to my appreciation of artists as individuals with unique perspectives and experiences that add value to any creative process. I aim to generate movement that is in part inspired by the dancers in any given process, intentionally utilizing their strengths. With most works, I hope to build an audience experience that allows each dancer in the piece to have their own unique journey from beginning to end. I encourage personal choice-making and movement pathway exploration throughout the process as a method of building artistry and individual expression before the work reaches its completion. Currently, I am most interested in exploring the human experiences of time, relationships, and the way we as individuals carry ourselves throughout life. As an artist, I have a passion for making the world a more thoughtfully connected place through all my creative pursuits, and I work to demonstrate this intentionality through each choreographic opportunity.
